Two cities from the United Arab Emirates were featured in the top twenty list with Abu Dhabi being crowned the safest city in the world and with Dubai not too far behind at 11th place with a safety index of 87. It was the only indicator which was placed under the category ‘high risk’. Manama scored low risk on level of crimes, low on worries home broken and things were stolen, ‘very low on car getting stolen, ‘very low’ on being mugged or robbed, low on worries of being attacked, low on worries of being insulted, low on problem with people using or dealing drugs, low on problem with property crimes such as vandalism and theft and low on problem with violent crimes such as assault and armed robbery.

However, Manama scored ‘moderate’ on corruption and bribery.

Explaining the safety index Numbeo stated, “If the city has a high safety index, it is considered very safe. Is this much less accurate than governmental statistics? In some countries, governments have detailed statistics based on a number of reported crimes per capita.
