Cloud technologies in focus as summit returns for the second year

Amidst Bahrain’s efforts to boost cloud computing, Amazon’s AWS summit is all set to return to the Kingdom this Sunday after its grand success last year. The event which is part of Amazon Web Services’ world-renowned global series of summits which takes place all around the world, will focus on cloud computing.

It was one of the high profile events of last year with many important announcements including ‘Cloud First policy’ as well as plans on launching Mena region’s first AWS Region (data center) in Bahrain being made. Bahrain’s Cloud First policy is estimated to have saved 90 percent in government ICT infrastructure expenditure since the announcement at last year’s event. The event will be held at The Ritz-Carton and will open its doors at 7:30 am and the featured keynote speaker for the event is Teresa Carlson Vice President, Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services.

The agenda for the day features sessions including ‘Secure and Automate AWS Deployments with Next Generation Security’, ‘Exploring Connectivity in Your Cloud Journey’ and ‘What Can You Do Today and Tomorrow to Continuously Adapt to Threat’. “Offering 13 breakout sessions, the Summit is designed to educate new and prospective customers about the AWS Cloud, and offer existing customers best practices and deep technical content to be more successful with their cloud adoption journey.
