Voters’ list ready
The voters’ lists will be displayed on the election website from today until October 3. Head of Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission, and the election’s Executive Director, Nawaf Abdullah Hamza, said that the voters’ lists would be available online for the first time, eliminating the need for paperwork.
There will be one large display screen and four small electronic screens at each of the committees showing the voters’ lists, he said. He called on citizens to ensure that their names were on the voters’ lists and to check their details within the specified seven-day period.
Citizens must verify that their names were on the lists as the first step to ensure their Constitutional right to vote, he explained. He added that the citizens would have the opportunity to submit online requests for rectification on the elections official website: www.vote.bh within the seven-day display period only.
He said citizens could use any of the three ways available to verify names on the voters’ lists through reporting to the supervisory stations in their governorate, online via www.vote.bh or by calling the polls hotline 77277277.
The voters’ lists will be displayed at Khawla Secondary Girls’ School in the Capital Governorate, AlHedayia AlKhalifia Secondary Boys’ School in Muharraq Governorate, Hamad Town Primary Girls’ School in Northern Governorate and Al Mustaqbal Primary Girls’ School in Southern Governorate, from 5 pm until 9 pm, he said.
The newly introduced e-service includes the ability to submit a request for correction on the voters’ lists online via the new-look elections official website: www.vote.bh, which was inaugurated recently.
