Woman fined BD50 for bid to destroy ex’s marital life
A Bahraini woman was fined BD50 for troubling another woman, whose husband was in a relationship with her.
She allegedly sent images and videos purporting to show her spending time with him. The woman’s lawyer Zainab Sabt had argued in her closing argument that her client was innocent because the case was filed by the woman’s husband and not her.
It’s believed that the woman’s “heart was so much broken” that she decided to settle scores with her ex-boyfriend for marrying another woman. “I was in a relationship with her, but it ended. And I married another woman. However, she decided to destroy my marriage by her act,” the man said in his complaint against his ex-girlfriend.
Lawyer Zainab Sabt told that the court that the man’s wife was the one who should have filed the complaint because she was the most severely affected party in this affair.
“Until now the wife’s identity is anonymous. She didn’t appear in the court, although she was the who received the messages. She must be heard to know the full story,” Sabt explained in her closing argument.
