BD3m revamp work on Saar Avenue
Around BD3 million has been allocated to initiate revamp works on Saar Avenue in the Northern Governorate, it is learnt. The project will add an additional lane on both directions of the road, which is considered to be one of the busiest roads in the governorate.
This was confirmed by Works Affairs Undersecretary at Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry Ahmed Al Khayat, who announced that all the intersections on the 14- km road are set to be developed to accommodate the growing traffic in the area. A source in the ministry told Tribune that parking spaces will also be provided on both sides of the road and 15 private properties will be affected by the project, adding that the ministry will compensate them for any damaged caused by the revamp works.
The BD3 million project will be soon forwarded to the Tenders Board and the government will bear BD150,000 of its total cost.
