Police attacker loses appeal

The High Appeals Court upheld the sentence issued against a Bahraini man convicted of attacking Al Nabih Saleh Police Station in 2012. The defendant was sentenced to five years in prison for the crime. The Bahraini man was among 18 held guilty in connection with the case.

Fifteen of them received seven years in prison each, while the rest were given five years behind bars each. The defendants’ involvement got established after cameras installed at the station caught them while carrying out an attack against the police using firebombs and iron rods.

According to court files, one police officer got injured as a result of the attack, while the thugs fled after cops arrived to restore order.
