Clubs chiefs value Shaikh Nasser’s initiative

The successful efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, to allow Bahrain’s Muharraq Clubs to take part in the Saudi football league 2019/2020 season continued to make high strides of applauds by the national sport community.

Sports Club chairmen gave double thumbs up to the initiative of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to involve Bahrain’s top football clubs in the Saudi Professional League from next season onwards. The move is part of a comprehensive plan set up by Shaikh Nasser to develop football in Bahrain and to add more quality to the Bahraini players spearheading the country in future competitions, especially the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sports clubs in Bahrain described this idea as one of many crucial contributions of Shaikh Nasser to sports in Bahrain, especially football, and is part of his plan to develop the game in the country to make it capable of competing on a higher level. Riffa Club chairman HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa said the idea will undoubtedly contribute to the development of Bahrain football clubs on the administrative and technical levels, taking them to true professional standards.

Shaikh Abdulla said the hard efforts of Shaikh Nasser to football in Bahrain makes everyone proud in the football community in this country and reflects his true desire to take the game in Bahrain to become more superior and efficient.

On his part, East Riffa Club chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said the initiative is one of the unique gestures of Shaikh Nasser in an attempt to boost football in Bahrain in a short period. Shaikh Abdulla noted that the idea would promote the already strong ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in all areas, especially sports, and is certainly bringing a lot of benefit to Bahrain sports, in general, and to Muharraq Club, in specific.
