Boy, 16, sentenced for robbing Asian worker
A 16-year-old Bahraini student lured an Asian labourer to Bani Jamra village, where he robbed BD450 from the man after beating him up very badly.
“I am a scrapyard worker. The boy came to me and requested to go with him to Bani Jamra saying he got something to sell us. I wanted to take my co-worker but the boy said there were people to help.
“Upon reaching Bani Jamra, he dragged me to an isolated area and began attacking me. He robbed my wallet carrying BD450,” the victim told prosecutors.
The boy was arrested after the police launched an investigation. The court yesterday handed down a suspended one year’s imprisonment to the convict.
