An Iranian man recruited a Bahraini to collect his money obtained through selling shabu, the court heard.

The Iranian was allegedly sending stocks of shabu to Bahrain in boats and the accused Bahraini was in charge of selling the drugs and collecting money.

The Bahraini was arrested at the Bahrain International Airport while attempting to smuggle shabu weighing a kilogram into Bahrain by hiding it in an electric chair, according to Public Prosecution.

“I was working for an Iran man, who was sending me shabu stocks through sea. He has so many distributors and I was one among them. I was collecting money after selling drugs for the Iranian. Once I received more than BD15,000 after selling one kg shabu to a Pakistani man,” the accused told prosecutors.

“I received the electric chair from someone in the UAE as I was tasked to deliver it to someone in Bahrain. But I was arrested at the Bahrain International Airport.”
