2,126 objections filed by voters at election supervisory centres

The supervisory centers for the upcoming elections have closed after one week of displaying voters’ list and receiving objections and address modification requests at all four governorates of the Kingdom.

The centers witnessed huge turnout on the last day that witnessed the registration of around 470 new objections to the voters’ list, which included some inaccurate information about voters. According to the official statistics, a total of 2,126 objections were received during the past week.

Potential candidates were also seen at the centers to support their future voters and help them amend their personal information and addresses. Head of the Supervisory Committee in the Capital Governorate Judge Fatima Hubail said the committee received 511 objection requests last week.

She said that most objections were submitted personally, while a few were submitted online. Ms. Fatima said almost all the requests were responded to, while 44 are being studied.

As for Muharraq Governorate, Supervisory Committee Head Dr. Ahmed Al Hammadi said that the committee received 352 objections, clarifying that 40 were submitted on Wednesday. Northern Governorate Supervisory Committee announced that it received the largest number of objections, with one 1, 069 objections registered in the past week.
