Cloud co-operation deal
Bahrain’s Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) and Kuwait’s Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) signed a MoU in the field of cloud computing.
The MoU, following the Cabinet’s approval and in line with relationships between both countries, facilitates government processes, increases efficiency and contributes in speeding the implementation of projects while maintaining security and confidentiality of information and data. The MoU was signed by Mohamed Ali AlQaed, Chief Executive of iGA, and Salim Muthib AlOzainah, CEO and CITRA Board of Directors Chairman.
Mr. AlOzainah expressed his delight in signing the MoU which demonstrates the strong ties between the two neighboring countries as well as stresses that such initiative comes in line with achieving Kuwait’s Vision 2035 that aims at supporting eTransformation. He added that Kuwait has recently held a number of MoUs in the field of IT so as to keep pace with the advanced technology and meet the future needs of Kuwait.
Mr. AlQaed praised the efforts exerted by Kuwait as one of the GCC countries which leads in benefiting from Bahrain’s experiences within the cloud computing field. He also highlighted the positive impact of this initiative to develop, enhance and sustain the quality of services provided to users; in addition to providing the appropriate environment to attract more foreign investments to the region. He said that the Kingdom is always pleased to exchange experiences with all countries which support government direction in developing government services and accelerating eTransformation in all sectors.
