Wages of kindergarten workers may be doubled
The wages of kindergarten workers may be doubled if a government plan to enhance their living standards comes into force, Tribune has learned. Sources within the Labour and Social Development Ministry confirmed that the plan includes increasing the existing wage of kindergarten workers from BD150 to BD300.
However, the sources affirmed that the matter was still being studied by the concerned departments in the ministry and no final decision has been made yet. Speaking to Tribune, Labour and Social Development Ministry Labour Affairs Undersecretary Sabah Al Dossary said: “The plan to amend the wages of kindergarten workers is being studied by a number of official authorities, such as Education Ministry, Labour and Social Development Ministry, Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and the Supreme Council for Women.
