Businessman fined for sending threat messages to BCCI board members

The Lower Criminal Court has fined a businessman BD50 for troubling Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) ex-CEO as well as board members. The defendant is believed to have sent offensive emails from an anonymous email to the CEO and board members. He was put on trial after the police investigators exposed his identity.

“I wanted to help my country and preserve the public money from being wasted,” the businessman said during questioning. “I was only criticizing BCCI’s budget spending policies, which didn’t achieve any tangible results,” he added.
