INDIAN SCHOOL SUSPENDS TWO STAFF MEMBERS

Manama

The Indian School Bahrain has suspended two persons, following the incident of calling parents of a deceased child, asking to pay fees dues. Show cause notices was also served to them.

The school authorities informed detailed enquiries will soon be conducted and more strict actions will be taken against the persons involved, as most of the staff members are on summer vacation.

The authorities, however, rubbished the rumors making rounds in social media that the incident was part of a conspiracy.

“Currently about BD200,000 fees dues are to be collected from the parents, and in view of the present financial condition, it needs to be done urgently. Some staff members were entrusted the duty of informing the parents. But the child’s name was not officially removed from the school records, which led to the unfortunate incident,” the school said in a statement.

Faulty system

The school admitted the procedure of the removal of the names of discontinued students were not effectively done for a long time.

“During the last audit report, it was found that the names of 116 students, who discontinued studies at the school were not removed. This is also now under enquiry,” the management said. The authorities informed if the error was consciously done, strict action would be taken against them, and the school systems would be made flawless.
