Indian Premier Modi tweets praises for Bahrain
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister yesterday retweeted a remark made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi describing Bahrain as the land of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
Mr. Modi had posted a video link along with his tweet which showed Bahraini artist Noor singing a song that portrayed Indian heritage. The song, Vaishnava Jana To is one of the most popular Hindu bhajans, written in the 15th century by the poet Narsinh Mehta in the Gujarati language. The bhajan, which was very close to the heart of India’s father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, speaks about the life, ideals, and morals to be followed in one’s life.
“Bahrain is a model of religious moderation and peaceful coexistence where Mahatma Gandhi’s principles are embodied. The walls of Arad Castle were chanted with Noor singing,” Mr. Modi tweeted.
