Court to hear prosecution witnesses in terror cell case

Prosecution witnesses will give evidence on October 31, 2018, in the case of the Bahraini Hizbollah terrorist group, in which 169 men have been accused.

The organization was formed after Iranian leaders issued orders to members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) to merge several Bahrain-based terrorist groups under one organization, namely the Bahraini Hizbollah. The groups that joined this organization include three major terrorist groups – Saraya Al Ashtar (Al Ashtar Brigades), Saraya Al-Mukhtar (The Chosen Brigades) and Saraya Al Muqawama Al Sha’abya (Popular Resistance Brigades).

An investigation into the terrorist network was completed by the Public Prosecution, which announced that 169 people have been identified as members of the organization. It also said that 111 defendants are in police custody and will stand trial before the High Criminal Court, while the rest will be tried in absentia.
