Businessmen acquitted of embezzling BD1m
The Lower Criminal Court has acquitted three businessmen of embezzling over BD one million after one of their partners in sand extraction business filed a complaint with the court alleging fraud.
The first defendant’s lawyer Abdulrahman Al Ghoneim said that the existing law doesn’t give the right to the Public Prosecution to refer the case, except through the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry. “There is no proper evidence to hold the trio guilty of misappropriating the money as claimed by the plaintiff.”
