Woman jailed for forging signature

The Lower Criminal Court has sentenced a Bahraini woman to one year behind bars along with BD500 fine for forging a salon owner’s signature to purchase mobile phones as well as SIM cards from a local telecommunication company.

The defendant is said to have signed a contract with the victim to manage the salon, but the agreement contained clear conditions denying the former from inking deals with other companies to buy any kind of items. However, she violated the agreement by signing a contract with a local telecommunication company to buy mobile phones and SIM cards.

“After three months from signing the agreement with her many problems erupted and she pledged to solve all of them. However, a telecommunication company suddenly began demanding me to settle an amount of BD500,” the victim told prosecutors.
