Man acquitted of embezzlement

The High Criminal Appeals Court has acquitted an Asian man, a partner in an engineering company, of embezzling money due to lack of proof. The defendant, according to his lawyer Maha Jaber, was accused of pocketing the commissions, although an auditor assigned to make a report about the case confirmed that he was innocent.

“My client was earlier sentenced to one year behind bars, despite the fact that an auditor concluded that he wasn’t implicated in any wrongdoing. “The commissions he had received were for works he provided for a furniture manufacturer,” lawyer Jaber said.
