Continuing Dog Father’s legacy
Animal lovers in the Kingdom are continuing the legacy of ‘Tony the Dogfather’ who had dedicated the last 18 years his life to rescuing and rehabilitating abused and neglected animals. A fundraising Garden Party today at the Dogfather’s Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre from 11 AM until 3 PM is inviting the public to participate to help raise donations to continue The Dog Father’s Legacy.
Sandi Thom, who currently runs the centre along with other volunteers, will be performing at the party. Currently, the centre houses over 350 animals. Speaking to Tribune, Sandi Thom, said that this is the first Garden Party after the passing of Tony Waters in April. The event, initiated by Tony years’ ago, not only meant to raise funds but also get people down here to know more about the work the centre does in rescuing and rehabilitation of animals.
“It is going to be a fun-filled day where families can come and enjoy,” Sandi Thom said adding that the initiative aims to provide better facilities to the animals here and shelter to many more. The centre is planning to sell Raffle tickets. “There are some awesome prizes up for grabs including restaurants and spa vouchers from some of the leading brands.
“There will be loads of food stalls selling burgers, vegan dishes as well as baked goods all of which have been generously donated by people for the fundraiser.” “The Dogfather Second Hand Shop will also set up a shop at the event so you can expect to find some amazing bargains,” Sandi Thom told Tribune. “We invite everyone to be part of the initiative and help us continue the work of The Dog Father.
It will be an evening filled with fun, live music, barbecue food, including veggie and vegan fare, and sale stalls to raise cash for the hundreds of unwanted dogs, cats and other animals cared for by Tony the Dogfather.”
