Crucial media role stressed

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has praised the role played by the press and media personnel in enlightening society, raising the national and public issues, as well as encouraging the citizens to contribute to the progress march currently witnessed by the kingdom in various fields.

“What distinguishes journalists and columnists in Bahrain is that they reflect a lot of reality by highlighting various issues that inform officials about the concerns and remarks of the public that need to be addressed. They are our partners in the national action of serving Bahrain and its people,” HRH Premier said. “We are proud that we are a society whose members, by their awareness and culture, have become able to keep abreast of the latest developments in science, and we have to live up to the aspirations we wish for future Bahrain,” the Prime Minister added.

HRH the Premier made the statements while receiving, at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, senior state officials, intellectuals, press and media personnel and scores of citizens, with whom he reviewed national issues, and the latest local and international developments.
