Minister visits Sitra Roundabout, South Alba Industrial areas

Manama

Minister of Industry and Commerce Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, along with a team from Industrial Areas Directorate headed by Undersecretary of Industry Affairs Osama Al Orayed, visited  yesterday the Sitra roundabout and south Alba industrial areas to inspect the existing investments and future requirements.

The team will now take appropriate procedures to correct some violations, in accordance to the new criteria recently approved by the cabinet. The inspection visits are expected to continue throughout this week to cover all industrial areas in the Kingdom.

During the visit, the minister hailed the national organisations and companies that have committed to the conditions of industrial areas. This led to the creation of an industrial foundation that contributes in the development and growth of the national economy and creation of job opportunities in the local market.

He stressed the need for coordination between the industrial tenants and those in-charge of industrial areas to find suitable solutions for anything that hinders economic development.

“The achievements of Bahrain in the industrial and commercial sectors were part of the positive cooperation between the private and public sectors, in addition to facilities and privileges the government provide to attract investors,” the minister highlighted. The 100,000-square meter Sitra roundabout industrial area has about 19 tenants, while the 1,500.000-square meter South Alba industrial area has 162 tenants.
