Mom wins kid’s custody from drug seller dad

After four years of separation, the Lower Shariat Court has transferred the custody of six-yearold girl from her father to the mother after the man was held guilty of consuming and peddling narcotic substances.

The woman’s lawyer Kholoud Mazloum argued that the man had an extended criminal record and he was in prison for selling and consuming drugs.

“The local law obligates the custodian to have the ability to raise the child. In Contrary, the father is in jail. Therefore, he isn’t eligible to take care of her,” Mazloum said in her closing argument.

“The defendant has been already held guilty in connection with many cases, including selling and consuming drugs. And this makes him not a suitable person to take care of a child given his history,” the lawyer added.

The Lower Shariat Court agreed with Mazloum’s closing argument, confirming that the father isn’t fit to take care of the child.
