Traffic violation: final trial in oct

Closing arguments will be heard on October 6 in the trial of two persons involved in a traffic violation case.Among the two is an Asian national who was reportedly forced by his co-accused to transport school teachers, though he didn’t have a driving license.

The 38-year-old was employed in a transportation company and was reportedly compelled by his manager to drive the teachers to their homes. But the Asian national got involved in a road accident in Isa Town. When police asked for his driving licese, he produced one that belonged to someone else.

 "My manager asked me to take the teachers to their homes. When I told him I don't have a license, he gave me one and asked me to go,” the Asian national told prosecutors. “He threatened to sack me and deport me to my country if I refused to obey," the Asian national said. "It was he who asked me to show the license he gave me, in case police asks me," he added. The Asian man and the manager are being tried before High Criminal Court, where they pleaded not guilty.
