‘Brave ICW will bolster Bahrain’s global role’
Brave will bolster Bahrain’s international position in the MMA sport, said HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday stressing that the Kingdom has the required capabilities and high competencies to embrace various international sporting events. HH Shaikh Khalid while visiting the Khalifa Sports City’s GYM also expressed confidence in Kingdom’s prospects in the upcoming BRAVE International Combat Week.
The event will be held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). Organised by the BMMAF in collaboration with the IMMAF, the event will take place from November 11 to 18 at Khalifa Sports City’s GYM.
The First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honourary President of Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), President of the High Organising Committee of Bahrain International Combat Week was accompanied by Abdulrahman Askar, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council four Youth and Sports and BOC, Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, President of the Executive Committee of BRAVE International Combat Week, Kerrith Brown, IMMAF President, Densign White, CEO of IMMAF, and other members.
HH Shaikh Khalid also reviewed the facility’s readiness to host the event as well as the expo which will be organised on the sidelines of the event. “Bahrain has been able to dazzle the world in hosting and organising the BRAVE International Combat Week last year as it featured the 4th IMMAF World Championships; the first one to be held on Middle East soil.
Thanks to this, the Kingdom has won the trust and confidence of the IMMAF which has given Bahrain the rights to organise the fifth and sixth editions, making it the first country to host this event for three consecutive years,” HH Shaikh Khalid said. He further added: “We are on the verge of a new dawn for the biggest MMA sports event which the BRAVE International Combat Week, which will feature the 5th IMMAF World Championships and the 18th BRAVE Championship.”
