Brinc looking to attract IoT talents

Brinc, the first Internet of Things (IoT) hardware accelerator in the region, is keen to attract IoT talents and businesses from around the world to Bahrain, a senior executive said. Brinc which was launched in the Kingdom earlier this year has already worked with three Bahrain-based companies at its accelerator and hopes to take four more in the near future, Yasin Aboudaoud, Brinc Chief Development Officer and Head of Brinc MENA, told Tribune. The goal is to attract global IoT talents and promising businesses to Bahrain to rev up the start-up scene in the country, he said.

Brinc is an international preseed accelerator, manufacturing management provider, and distribution platform based in Hong Kong with offices in Barcelona, Guangzhou, Bahrain, and Poznan. “We are interested in any sort of start-ups that are doing IoT based products. Our focus is to help them with market validation, financial outlook and also their technical side. Brinc is now four and a half years old. We have looked at 5,000 applications and taken into our pre-programmed about 150 of them and we have invested in 48 companies,” he told Tribune. He said that Brinc is looking to leverage Bahrain as a hub for IoT in the region.
