Convicts lose appeals in fake crash for cash case

The High Appeals Court has upheld the sentences issued against two Bahraini men convicted of forging a traffic accident report issued by the General Traffic Directorate.

The duo committed their wrongdoing to con a local insurance company as they were wrongfully seeking compensation, according to prosecutors. The incident occurred in the year 2014. According to court details, the first defendant asked the second defendant to deliberately crash vehicle into his car.

Following this ‘fabricated accident’, the duo went to the police station and obtained a report. Later, the duo forged an accident report which was presented to the insurance company. The duo was arrested after an insurance company official alerted the police over the fake accident report.
