Teenager sentenced for attacking police officer
A 17-year-old Bahraini student will spend the next years in prison for attacking an on-duty police officer. The defendant was held while trying to protect his girlfriend who was arrested for prostitution. “I was assigned to arrest women working as prostitutes. We were on duty when a 17-year-old boy came to us and tried to obstruct our task.
“I asked his ID card and he said he doesn’t have one,” the victim said. “Then, I directed him to leave because he was hindering our mission. However, he began shouting at me, pushed and punched me in my face and tore off my uniform.” The defendant was arrested and was charged with attacking an on-duty police officer.
