ICRF conducts awareness workshop to prevent suicide

An awareness workshop will be held today to tackle the growing rate of suicide among workers. ICRF is conducting the Mental Wellbeing training workshop today at 5 pm at Ashraf’s auditorium, 2nd floor in Hoora. Mehru Vesuvala General Secretary, Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) said, “The workshop sponsored by Mona Yousuf Almoayyed will be conducted by Dr Anisha Abraham, who is a clinical psychologist at the American Mission Hospital.”

Dr Babu Ramachandran, the Head of American Mission Hospital (Amwaj Branch) and Head of Indian Medical Association, Bahrain, and Vice Chairman of the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) told Tribune that creating awareness is a must as it is really hard to find out suicidal tendencies, despite strenuous efforts. “We have dealt with cases where individuals have tried to end their lives but were able to help them.

They moved on to live normal lives and actually started doing better in their careers too,” Dr Babu said adding that this workshop comes as a part of a move to help and reach out to more individuals more effectively.
