Bahraini women’s role stressed

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, has extended sincerest congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women as the Kingdom marks Bahraini Women’s Day today. In a statement marking the occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid praised the Bahraini women’s achievements and active role in achieving sustainable development in all fields thanks to the Reform Project launched by HM King Hamad.

“HM the King’s Reform Project has empowered women in Bahrain and they have become an active player in society in many areas, including the municipal and legislative fields, where they have proved themselves,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.

HH Shaikh Khalid highlighted the efforts of the SCW, under the leadership of HRH Princess Sabeeka, underlining the SCW’s initiatives which contributed to Bahrain’s women’s success in reaching leadership roles in all fields. Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Hisham Al Jowder, also extended sincere congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka.

In a statement marking the occasion, the minister highlighted HRH Princess Sabeeka’s unwavering interest in Bahraini women, which, he said, has paved the way for them to be basic partners, along with men, in various areas of national work, as well as to reach the highest political, executive and legislative positions, including leadership ones.
