Arab unity vow

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa alongside other Gulf leaders participated in the final session of the 39th GCC Summit held yesterday in Diriyah Palace in Riyadh.

The summit vowed to maintain Arab unity to thwart Iranian and other threats while agreeing on intensifying co-operation in many areas including defence.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz said yesterday Saudi Arabia is keen to maintain the entity of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and strengthen its current and future role.

“In order to enhance the security, stability, development, prosperity and wellbeing of the citizens of member states, the GCC has become our fundamental asset,” said King Salman. King Salman welcomed leaders and heads of delegations from the six GCC member states, including the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar, for the 39th GCC summit in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh.
