Social media star lauds increasing inter-sect marriages
The unity among Bahrainis has been hailed by a well-known social media activist in the region. Highlighting a successful marriage between two Bahraini youngsters who are from two different sects, world-renowned social media commentator and activist from the UAE, Khalid Al Ameri, who is on a visit to the country, praised the social cohesion here.
Mr Al Ameri highlighted the life of Fatima and Ali, who are Sunni and Shia respectively, presenting them as a model example to his followers.
“Shia and Sunni are two different sects of the Muslim religion, a lot of work and news has been put into increasing the divide between the two sects, many believe those reasons to be political, which caused communities and in many cases families to become divided,” Mr Al Ameri wrote to his international audience.
