Aim high to win peaks

Happy National Day our beloved Bahrain. Today we mark the independence anniversary of a state, which for the past 47 years has managed to occupy a special place on the international map.

Though small geographically, the Kingdom has proved big when it comes to accomplishments and ability to face challenges. And these elements of perseverance has made the country become what it is today.

It’s a day that reminds us of how deep rooted our beloved country is in our hearts and it’s a day that reminds us of all the ups and downs we all went through together with hopes for a great future.

We managed to survive all difficult situations only out of the love for this land, out of the love to become one, strong nation, out of the love towards the country’s leadership. Over the past four decades, I have seen how my country, a small state with a basic infrastructure, grow to emerge a modern state having one of the best infrastructure in the region as well as a class workforce meeting the requirements of the economy. In the past four decades, I personally remember seeing people working hard to reap success for the nation. We worked hard.

We studied. We accepted people from different backgrounds and cultures into our country. We treated our guests as one of us and we were always described by our neighbours as the most humble, educated and modest people. We all knew that we need skills and qualifications to reach where we wanted to.

We all started so small and those who had persistence and aspirations, did reach their objectives. The story of each and every Bahraini is synonymous with the Kingdom’s history.

In the 1980s and 1990s the country’s infrastructure was built and the foundations for a modern state was laid by HH the late Amir Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa and his beloved brother, our Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who continues to this day to dedicate his life to our country.

In the year 2000, we all were privileged to have HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as the leader who would add special glory, by placing it on the international map on all levels.

Looking forward, our Crown Prince is our future. We all are waiting to see Vision 2030 materialise and bring further prosperity to the Kingdom. Finally, special wishes to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa.

We appreciate Her Highness’ support towards the press and we will continue our efforts towards further empowerment of the women of this nation.

Before I end, I wish all our readers a Happy National Day. Set targets for yourself, for the nation and achieve them through hard work and love for this great country.
