New app to keep docs on call online

A smartphone application, which will allow patients to consult doctors online at any time of the day will soon be launched in Bahrain. The application, which will be made available to download from the App Store and Google Play store will feature doctors from Bahrain.

With a few clicks, the patients can book an appointment with the doctor and have a consultation session with the app as the platform. Sometimes the consultation can be done instantly without booking. It can be done either by texting, audio or video. Bahrain Medical Association (BMA) has signed a co-operation agreement yesterday to launch the application named Cura in Bahrain. Doctors in Bahrain associated with Bahrain Medical Association will be online on the app where patients can request online consultation.

The specialities available in the app include Family Medicine, Psychiatry and Psych Therapy, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Obesity and Cosmetics, Dermatology, Nutrition, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pulmonary and Sleep, Specialty, Dentistry and Supporting and Medical Specialties. “It offers patients the possibility to seek medical advice with their smart devices to find out the best procedures and the best doctor to go to. This application will be limited to BMA’s doctors, who are licensed by the National Health Regulatory Authority.
