Hotels flow used oils, block sewer lines
Hotel owners in the Kingdom have been warned over flowing used oil into sewer lines by flouting norms. The unscrupulous act has led to frequent blocks in the sewer lines adversely affecting the residents in the area, according to Works Ministry sources. “Hotels are supposed to filter used oil before flowing them into sewer lines.
But most of them are not doing, in turn creating frequent blocks in the sewer lines,” they said. They added that many hotels have been violating many other norms related to food safety as well. “Most of them don’t have fire extinguishers. Basic requirements are also missing at many hotels
