Woman’s acquittal upheld in adultery trial
The High Criminal Appellate Court has upheld the verdict issued by the lower court in a trial, which saw a Bahraini man accusing his wife of adultery. The man had filed a case with the police accusing his wife of committing adultery. According to sources, the woman was allegedly having an affair with another man.
“The man’s ( husband) brother, as well as the housemaid, had told prosecutors that they saw the woman making love with another man in the absence of her husband.” On the flip side, the woman’s lawyer argued that the man had delayed dowry payment and he wanted to get away from his responsibility by filing the adultery case against his wife.
