Fiscal Balance Program ‘road towards economic success’
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Financial, Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance affirmed that the Fiscal Balance Programme constitutes the roadmap that guides Bahrain’s general finance to achieve equilibrium between expenditures and revenues by 2022.
This came as the Deputy Premier received Arab Monetary Fund (AMF)’s Board Chairman Dr Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Hamidy yesterday in the presence of Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid hailed the leadership’s directives and the Government’s constant follow up of this programme at the highest strata to ensure the ministries’ and governmental entities’ ideal implementation of the programme policies and initiatives, which within record timespan yielded encouraging positive preliminary results including the accomplishment of certain goals as attested by global rating agencies that raised Bahrain’s rating to ‘stable’ degree.
