Cabinet gives nod to govt action plan

An extraordinary session of the Cabinet yesterday approved the Government Action Plan (GAP) for the Fifth Legislative Term, 2019-2022, that seeks to achieve the visions and aspirations of the comprehensive development progress, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The approval came after a thorough examination of all aspects related to themes and policies.

The session was chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. The action plan, which reflects the government’s ambitions and aspirations to achieve fiscal balance, continue enhancing economic growth, sustainability of the development progress and projects, improve services to citizens, has been referred to the Council of Representatives.

In a post-session statement, the Cabinet Secretary-General, Dr Yasser bin Isa Al-Nasser, said GAP 2019-2022 reflects the determination of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to achieve comprehensive development that is built upon the principles of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

GAP’s policies and goals, Dr Al Nasser said, seek to maintain a positive economic growth within the framework of fiscal balance and optimal use of resources to ensure their sustainability for future generations. During the session, the Cabinet discussed the categories of the GAP as well as the policies and goals that would ensure the consolidation, development and sustainability of the services delivered by the government to the citizens.
