Terror convict’s sentence upheld

The First High Criminal Court has upheld the verdict of a terror convict who was handed down 15 years jail sentence by the Lower Criminal Court. The lower court had also revoked his nationality and this decision was as well upheld.

According to Public Prosecution, the Bahraini man was part of the ‘14 February’ terrorist group, which is accused of carrying out many attacks in the Kingdom.

Many other members of the terror cell have been jailed, while there are many terrorists who have been sentenced in absentia. “The accused many a time went to Iran and underwent training to carry out terror attacks in the Kingdom,” said the Public Prosecution.

“He was also a main recruiter for the group and persuaded many to join the group. He was involved in raising funds for the terror group,” the prosecutors added.
