National Race Day set for thrilling battles at BIC

National Race Day returns to action at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) tomorrow, with the fifth round of the 2018/2019 season. Set to hit the tarmac at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” are three of the kingdom’s most exciting championships, including the BIC 2,000cc Challenge, the Bahrain Motorcycle Racing (BMR) 600 and the Bahrain Supersport Championship (BSSP) 125.

Each series will have its own highly competitive grid made up of the country’s most talented gentleman drivers of various nationalities. They will be battling it out along BIC’s 2.55-kilometre Inner Track, and with the season headed towards its final few meetings, the fight for wins, championship points and bragging rights is surely set to reach an exciting climax. Racing tomorrow is scheduled to begin at 12.45pm and continue until a little after 7pm.

First out onto the track will be the BSSP 125 competitors. Their practice at 12.45pm will be followed by qualifying at 2.25pm. Their first eight-lap first race is then scheduled for a 3.52pm start, with race two beginning at 5.37pm. The BMR 600 riders will kick their round off with practice at 1.20pm. Qualifying will then be at 2.50pm, setting the grid for race one at 4.25pm.

Race two will be at 6.10pm. Both sprints are to be held over 11 laps. In the BIC 2,000cc Challenge, practice will be at 1.55pm with qualifying at 3.15pm. Race one will then flag off at 4.59pm and then race two will begin at 6.44pm, both over 12 laps.
