Traders, businesses feel heat in moderate winter

Though the winter season has begun, it hasn’t brought the expected riches to the businesses as well as traders. Reason? until now, it has been a moderate winter with people not engaging in excessive shopping for winter garments, blankets, and jackets. Almost all traders had been stocking winter goods since November last year, but they are now feeling the heat as the business has been really below average.

Speaking to Tribune, a clothes trader, who doesn’t want to be named, said that all textile shops are now offering huge discounts to get out of the trouble. “We were expecting much higher sales in January. But not only the sales did take off, but even February is also going out to be a month of not so great business. “Winter has been moderate until now. The temperature hasn’t fallen much like the previous years.

Moreover, the introduction of VAT and other economic factors have led to a decline in sales.”
