Expat beaten up by gang in Askar
An Indian expatriate was brutally beaten up by a gang near Alba complex in Askar yesterday. The attack victim is identified as Jithendra Sharma, who is undergoing treatment at Salmaniya Medical Complex after suffering injuries. Sources said Mr Sharma was attacked in an open space near his accommodation facility.
“He was on his way to buy groceries at a nearby supermarket when the attack happened,” sources said. Sources told Tribune that fights among illegal liquor selling gangs are common in the area, adding that Mr. Sharma must have been attacked by mistake.
