Drug lord jailed
The High Criminal Court has sentenced a drug lord to four years behind bars along with a fine of BD4,000. Another accused in the case received only one year behind bars along with BD1,000 in fine for consuming drugs. The first defendant’s activities came to light after the police received a tipoff.
Subsequently, an undercover officer was ordered to establish links with him. The officer in plain clothes contacted the defendant and offered to buy hashish from him for BD1,200, said prosecutors. They met at an agreed time while an anti-drug squad was monitoring the situation.
