Hussain Ayyad to represent Bahrain in Philippines

Hussain Ayyad’s MMA career developed faster than he could ever imagine. The 25-year-old Bahrain-born fighter took the local amateur scene by storm in 2016, less than 4 years after start training martial arts. Needless to say, his transition to professional MMA was even quicker and in November 2018 he was carrying the Bahrain flag in front of 5000+ fans at Brave International Combat Week, being the only home fighter to represent the country in Brave 18.

The challenge now is even bigger. Hussain will go to his opponent’s lair and take on thousands of fans supporting their hometown hero and one of the biggest Filipino prospects in Jason Vergara. The Flyweight bout, with weight-limit up to 57kg, is set to take place in Brave 22, on March 15. However, despite all the hostility awaiting, Hussain Ayyad is positive about the upcoming fight, mostly because, according to him, representing his beloved Kingdom of Bahrain is enough motivation to deal with whatever comes his way.

“This feeling you can’t describe, I cannot just tell you because it’s very hard to say. It’s amazing. Especially when you go and you carry your flag of your country in front of everybody. It doesn’t matter if you win or if you lose. You just feel proud to carry your flag in front of the world. You get to show them who is Bahrain and what Bahrain can make”, Hussain said.
