Private sector ‘to lead jobs boom’
Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, yesterday highlighted many developmental measures enacted by the government for the welfare of the citizens, saying Bahrain is about to witness a new stage of economic growth to strengthen its financial standing.
In response to BNA’s question about the Voluntary Retirement Programme, the minister said that the programme, which was launched in the fourth quarter of last year, has made a great success, because it provides the government employees the opportunity to participate in the growth of the private sector.
The minister was speaking on the sidelines of the Gulf Economic Forum 2019, which concluded yesterday. He explained the private sector has always created job opportunities and that it is responsible for creating more than 60 per cent of job opportunities to citizens, noting that one of the goals of economic development is to create jobs with the participation of the private sector.
