Second Pearl Pediatric International Conference opens

The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) President Dr Khalid Al Ohaly yesterday opened the second edition of the Pearl Pediatric International Conference Conference at Art Rotana Hotel in Amwaj Islands. The conference, held under the patronage of the President of the Supreme Council for Health Lt-General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, will conclude tomorrow.

The conference, Al Ohaly said, will present valuable scientific researches and papers conducted by leading academics, doctors and consultants in the various fields of paediatrics from GCC states. “The conference includes 50 scientific lectures, 9 discussion sessions and six specialised workshops where the conference will also grant participants 24 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) that are approved by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).”

Head of the Conference’s Scientific Committee, Dr Fadheela Al Mahroos, said the conference will raise objection to the rumours spreading online in recent years, claiming that vaccinations are harmful to children and human health in general, where we need to realise the importance of vaccinations and recall the situations before the existing vaccinations were developed.
