Gravity sponsors its youngest athlete

Gravity Indoor Skydiving is sponsoring Talal Janahi, who is the youngest Bahraini Indoor Skydiving flyer. This initiative was inspired by the huge success of Shaikha Fatima Ahmed Al Khalifa who embarked on a journey to become Bahrain’s First Female indoor skydiving athlete, which enabled her to participate in several international competitions including the third FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving, Bahrain.

Nine-year-old Talal Janahi’s indoor skydiving journey began within the first year Gravity’s opening in 2016 where he experienced bodyflight for the first time. He then started flying on a regular basis and now frequents Gravity on a weekly basis to train.

Talal was encouraged and still received a lot of support from his dad to undergo this unique experience, which is what developed his love for flying and enabled him to progress significantly throughout the years. With the support of his family, Talal started to receive private coaching at Gravity and become one of the youngest Bahraini professional flyers.

Talal’s attendance to the World Cup of Indoor Skydiving 2018, which took place at Gravity in October 2018 was a great source of inspiration for him to become an athlete and progress his flying skills. Talal Janahi is currently attending primary school, however, with the help of his dad he is able to prepare a schedule to balance his studies and flying.

He is currently under an advanced training programme set by Gravity and prepared by Gravity instructors, to prepare him to reach a high level and potentially compete at future competition.

“I am so happy to be the youngest Bahraini to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain and Gravity in this sport. I look forward to my visits to Gravity afterschool every day,” Talal said.

Talal’s father, Mohammed Janahi also expressed his gratitude toward Gravity Indoor Skydiving for giving Talal this great opportunity and for their continuous support. “It has truly been a great learning curve for Talal,” he added.
