Bahrain to march towards greater success, says Shaikh Nasser

Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa asserted the committee will march on to achieve more achievements in the field of sports. Joined by Youth and Sports Affairs minister Ayman Tawfiq Almoayyed, BOC board members and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and BOC secretary general Abdulrahman Askar, had a meeting with BOC staff, in which he thanked them for hard work in achieving the kingdom’s aspirations.

HH Shaikh Nasser commended the efforts of the Bahraini athletes in the so-called ‘Year of Gold Only’, an initiative announced by Shaikh Nasser to further boost Bahrain in the field of sports by setting up the country’s finest athletes to capture gold for Bahrain at regional, continental and international competitions. “Since I was given the honour by His Majesty the King to head the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and later to become president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee in 2009, our nation has made strides of successes with Bahrain’s finest athletes making history as they excelled on the international level,” said Shaikh Nasser.

“I am also proud to witness an exceptional award won by the Bahrain Olympic Committee as the best NOC at the 2016 ANOC awards ceremony, which was a result of the hard work by all of our staff”. “Now it’s time for a new leader – with an equal or even higher commandership efficiency – to take over the presidency of the committee, and take it to new horizons of excellence,” said Shaikh Nasser.
