Indian Embassy launches Passport Seva System
The Indian embassy in Bahrain has announced the implementation of a service that would dramatically reduce the time it takes for passport related services. The launching of the service is part of the worldwide implementation of the passport Seva project. The service came into effect in Bahrain since yesterday.
The Ministry of External Affairs of India is implementing the new system at all Indian Embassies and Consulates around the world. The service which is in line with India’s digitization policy will make the application process faster and more efficient. Its features also include end-to-end status tracking and enhanced security.
“As part of the worldwide implementation of Passport Seva Project, the Global Passport Seva Programme has been rolled out in Bahrain. “Members of the Indian community in Bahrain are advised to use the new portal https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in for availing Passport services with effect from 20 March 2019,” the embassy stated.
Explaining how the process can be availed, the embassy stated: “Applicants are required to do online registration at https://embassy. passportindia.gov.in (Passport Seva at Indian Embassies and Consulates) and create a User ID. Log in using the newly created User ID and fill in the user-friendly application form online at the same portal.
