Reckless driver arrested
A reckless driver who was seen in footage performing stunts on one of the major highways in the Kingdom has been detained and will soon stand for trial before the judges, it is learned.
The footage went viral on all social media networks a few days ago, creating a wide wave of criticism over the driver’s unsafe behavior. The man was seen dangerously skidding his sports vehicle on King Faisal Highway, close to the Avenues-Bahrain mall. Responding to the incident, the Interior Ministry swiftly launched an investigation into it, confirming in a few hours that the driver has been arrested.
A tweet shared on the ministry’s official page on Twitter read: “Concerning a circulated video, the General Directorate of Traffic has taken legal procedures against a driver for performing stunts on the main road in a way that risks traffic safety.” Deputy Attorney General Mohammed Al Dhahrani confirmed in a statement issued yesterday that the Traffic Prosecution has probed the incident and interrogated the driver, who confessed to his crime.
